There are several kinds of spindles that can be used in CNC machining centers, the common ones are belt spindles, direct-drive spindles, gear spindles and electric spindles. Among them, the belt-type spindle is the most commonly used spindle form among CNC machining centers, and it is also the standard spindle of many CNC machining centers. Why are the standard spindles of CNC machining centers mostly belt-type? Is the belt of the CNC machining center the main shaft?
Not all CNC machining centers use belt spindles as standard equipment. High-speed CNC machining centers and drilling and tapping centers are not included in this list. This high-speed machine tool comes standard with direct-drive spindles, and belt-type spindles cannot be used. Belt-type spindles are used in both small CNC machining centers and large CNC machining centers, and can process large workpieces as well as small parts. Large-scale vertical CNC machining centers are doing heavy cutting most of the time, processing cast iron and steel castings, and mold processing, while belt-type spindles are competent in this regard, but some hard alloys are not suitable for use. For belt-type spindle processing, gear-type spindles are selected instead.
Many customers of small CNC machining centers are used for the processing and production of small hardware parts or products, and some are also used for the processing of small molds. That is to say, the workpieces processed by small CNC machining centers are relatively small, and the general belt spindle can be used. It meets the requirements of small CNC machining centers, and their small CNC machining centers are rarely used to process hard alloys.
