What is the principle of water jet?
Water jet, which uses water as the knife, its real name is high-pressure water jet cutting technology, which can cut any material with any curve at one time. The heat generated during cutting will be taken away by the water jet immediately, and no harmful substances will be produced. No need or easy secondary processing, safety, environmental protection, faster speed and higher efficiency.
This technology originated in the United States, and is favored for its cold cutting that does not change the physical and chemical properties of the material. After continuous improvement of technology, abrasives such as pomegranate sand and carborundum were mixed into high-pressure water to assist cutting, which greatly improved the cutting speed and cutting thickness of the water jet. At present, waterjet has been widely used in ceramics, stone, glass, metal, composite materials and many other industries. In 2011, water jet expert Ji Xingang made the water jet smaller and safer, and promoted the wide application of water jet, such as: oil pipeline, Christmas tree emergency repair, tank cutting, equipment maintenance, etc.
The basic working principle of ultra-high pressure waterjet is both simple and extremely complex.
The composition of water jet processing equipment includes: ultra-high pressure pump, water jet cutting head device, water jet x-y movable plane cutting table, CNC controller and CAD/CAM software package, etc.
Ordinary water passes through an ultra-high pressure pump to pressurize the water to 400MPa. In order to obtain a stable high-pressure water jet, the generated high-pressure water needs to enter an accumulator to stabilize the pressure. Then through a very small nozzle (that is, the water jet cutting head device, the diameter of which is about 0.1-0.4mm), a water arrow with a speed of nearly one thousand meters per second (about 3 times the speed of sound) is produced. This water arrow is like A sharp sword for cutting processing, cutting the workpiece to be processed.
The latter two precisely control the cutting position, radian, and angle to ensure the cutting accuracy of the water jet.
