Why is the accuracy of wire cutting EDM inaccurate?
In the daily CNC wire cutting process, the wire cutting EDM machine often finds that the precision of the processed workpiece is not correct. What is the reason for this?
Why is backlash easy to occur during wire cutting? The main reasons are as follows:
1. Gear clearance: mainly the transmission gear between the stepper and the screw.
2. Positioning key clearance: Especially for screws on large gears, too small clearance will affect the accuracy of the cutting product.
3. Motor shaft key clearance: The clearance in this part will not only generate backlash, but also generate noise.
4. The clearance between the screw and the nut, the normal clearance of the screw drive is less than 0.003, which cannot be guaranteed for products with poor quality.
5. Screw bearing clearance: The clearance is adjusted axially by the inner and outer rings of the bearing. If the bearing is of low mass, it will not rotate flexibly under a tight fit, so these bearings must not be sloppy.
Using closed-loop control can avoid or reduce the backlash of wire EDM machines.
