How to manage machine tool cutting fluid?
When purchasing cutting fluid, an application plan should be made, and usually the reserve should not exceed 3 months. The cutting fluid should be applied in the order of purchase. Oil-based cutting fluids can last for several years, but water-based cutting fluids typically last only 6 to 12 months. The cutting fluid should be stored indoors as far as possible, at a temperature of 5~40℃. If STORE outdoors, should avoid sunshine point-blank and insolate. In summer, the outdoor temperature in some areas is high, which is harmful to the cutting fluid and easy to cause deterioration. In addition, it is important to avoid rainwater mixing.
Rainwater mixed with oil-based cutting fluid will cause the decrease of lubricity and rust resistance; Rainwater mixed with water - based cutting fluid is likely to cause additive separation or gelation. The pour point of oil-based cutting fluid is usually not higher than -5℃, and the safety of water-based cutting fluid is usually guaranteed at -5℃. Generally speaking, the south is not easy to have freezing problems, but the north should pay special attention to anti-freezing. In particular, once the stock emulsion cutting fluid is frozen, it will be separated after heating and melting, and most of it can not be applied. If the cutting fluid is frozen, it should be sufficiently stirred after thawing, or the container should be rolled on the ground to mix it evenly, and then sample and check to determine whether it can continue to be applied.
The container containing the cutting fluid should be clean and well sealed. Internal galvanized iron drum can not be used, because the galvanized layer is likely to react with the cutting fluid components to produce zinc soap. When outdoor upright storage, the opening direction should be upward, and the top must be sealed. When placed horizontally, keep the opening above to avoid getting wet from rain.
